Northsteins to lead Daffodil Festival parade

  

Two longtime Gloucester residents who have given back to the community year after year will get some long overdue recognition of their own when they lead Saturday’s Daffodil Festival parade.

Pinetta residents John and Laura Northstein have been selected by the Gloucester Daffodil Festival Committee to serve as grand marshals for this year’s festival.

The Northsteins have been extremely active in local civic affairs, volunteering with numerous organizations over the years, including the Meals on Wheels program and the Gloucester Ruritan Club.

In addition, Mr. Northstein has been a mainstay in local government, serving 16 years on the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors, just finishing his most recent term last December. He was on the board when the Daffodil Festival was started in 1987.
