Nominees sought for Clean Business Award

The Gloucester Clean Community Committee is seeking nominees for its 2013 Clean Business Award.

 

The award is designed to recognize businesses in Gloucester which have taken an active role in promoting a clean environment by maintaining an attractive business site, supporting a no-litter community, and demonstrating pride in the community, Clean Community coordinator William Bell said.

 

Traditionally, the committee selects three businesses annually to receive the recognition generally given to one business each from the southern, central and northern sections of the county.

 

 

Businesses that are nominated should demonstrate an ongoing effort to keep a well-groomed property free from litter, clutter and general debris, Bell said. The three main criteria for the award are:
—The business must have been in business at its present location in Gloucester for at least one year prior to nomination and not be in violation of any county codes;
