The Northern Neck Sail & Power Squadron has a number of programs coming up for the local boating community.From 6-8 p.m. today, Thursday, May 15, the squadron will host the first of a seven-week course on boat handling. The fee is $95 (members receive a $20 discount). The course is intended for all boaters who want to gain knowledge, skill and confidence in docking, handling your boat safely, learn about knots, anchoring, trailering, and other seamanship skills.
A pair of free seminars will be held on Saturday. At 10 a.m., the seminar will be on docking and undocking your boat. At 1 p.m., the seminar will be on Anchoring with Assurance.
A course for boaters to earn their VA Boater Certification Card will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on two consecutive Saturdays, June 14 and 21. The fee is $25.
