The Gloucester Branch of the NAACP is holding its College, Career and Resource Fair from 5-7 o’clock tonight, Thursday, Oct. 19 in the Gloucester High School gym.
According to Gloucester’s NAACP Education Committee Chairperson Dr. Lourdes Travieso-Parker, more than 40 institutions, including colleges and technical schools, will be attending to inform students of their offerings. The fair will show a broad range of careers and higher education options.
Students will be able to not only explore four-year college options, but also learn about direct career paths provided by technical schools, businesses and even the armed forces. Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue will also be available that night.
“We have opportunities for young people,” said Travieso-Parker.
Gloucester students, as well as students from surrounding areas, including Mathews, King and Queen, West Point, King William, York and Newport News are all encouraged to attend.
