Middlesex nursing home under new ownership

The former Mizpah Nursing Home at Locust Hill in Middlesex County was sold recently to Saber Healthcare Management, an Ohio-based company that owns 90 properties.
Saber then began trading here as Dockside Health & Rehabilitation Center, said Paul Conradt-Eberlin, Dockside’s administrator. Some renovations have already begun and more are in the works, he said, with plans for all of the improvements to be completed by early next year.
Dockside will be moving from private pay and Medicaid to also accepting Medicare patients, Conradt-Eberlin said. The facility can house 64 residents, he said, with plans to offer post-acute rehabilitation.
Plans are in the works to add a performance gym to support the rehab patients, Conradt-Eberlin said, and to add speech, occupational and physical therapists to the current staff of 85 full- and part-time workers, which includes a doctor, nurses and a social worker.
