Middle Peninsula Chapter of the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society will hold its monthly buffet lunch meeting on Thursday, Jan. 15, at the Pilot House Restaurant, next to the Hummel Field Airport on Route 3 in Topping. The program will begin with a meet and greet at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch at noon and the program at 12:30 p.m. This month’s program will be the group’s annual “Share Our Aviation Treasures” or Show and Tell. Those planning on attending are encouraged to dig out and bring their special aviation gems and trinkets to share with members and guests. In previous years, those in attendance have shared everything from incredible award medals from China to aviation paintings to NASA astronaut memorabilia and more. Following the treasure program, if time permits, the chapter will have audience choice DVD of either “Eagles Over the Gulf” about Desert Storm pilots with original video of hitting targets in the first Gulf War or “Chesapeake Bay by Air,” a PBS program showca...
