Nancy Prince Jackson is the co-owner and office manager of Michael Marketing Real Estate, Inc., on Gloucester Road in Saluda.
Since 1989, the business has been a full service real estate company that lists and sells property, with agents taking the time to walk clients through the entire process and continuing to be there for them even after closing.
“Many of our clients become our friends because of the service we provide,” said Jackson.
As a small company, Michael Marketing has to be versatile, changing its niche whenever interest rates rise and cause the market to plummet. But the partners like being a small company, said Jackson, and have chosen to keep it that way.
“Many people think it is better to list with a big-box real estate company,” she said, “so we had to prove ourselves to the public.”
A Deltaville native, Jackson helped her father keep the books and place orders in his plumbing and heating business, while the rest of her business acumen she learned on her own, by trial and error.
Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s in Learning Disabled from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed real estate classes at Rappahannock Community College and VCU. Her partner in the business is her husband, Michael Jackson, who handles farm, land, and timber properties. Her sister, Cheryl Prince Teagle, is an agent with the company, as well.
