Ten members were inducted into the Mathews High School Hall of Fame at a program Friday evening at the school’s Harry M. Ward Auditorium (which, incidentally, is named for a member of the Hall of Fame’s inaugural class). This year’s group included two contributors and eight athletes. Welcomed into the Hall of Fame were, from left, contributors Van Johnston and Debbie Holaday, and athletes Justin Adams, Jonathan Lewis, Ricky Montaque, Wade Elliott, the late Dale Garrett (represented by his son Matthew, wife Vicki and daughter Sheree Garrett-Celestino), Jerry Morgan, the late Darden Callis (represented by daughters Kim Callis and Pam Callis-Lett) and Susan Vogel.
