CCS to host lacrosse tournament this weekend

Christchurch School will host the annual Daniel T. Nolan Lacrosse Tournament on Friday and Saturday at Dischinger Field on the school’s upper campus in Middlesex County. Participating schools are The Heights School of Potomac, Maryland; Perkiomen School of Pennsburg, Pennsylvania; Severn School of Severna Park, Maryland, and Christchurch.

The action starts at 3 p.m. Friday, with The Heights vs. Perkiomen. Championship and consolation games will be on Saturday, with games at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The tournament is held each year to honor Dan Nolan, beloved Christchurch administrator and lacrosse coach who died of ALS in 1992.

The public is invited and there is no cost for admission. The CCS Seahorses compete in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division I, which includes Benedictine College Prep, Bishop Ireton, Bishop O’Connell, Blue Ridge, Cape Henry Collegiate, Catholic, Collegiate School, Episcopal, Flint Hill, Fork Union Military Academy, Norfolk Academy, The Potomac School, St. Anne’s-Belfield, St. Christopher’s, St. John Paul the Great Catholic High School, St. Paul VI, St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes, Trinity Episcopal and Woodberry Forest School. The team is coached by Tim Cloud, assisted by Evan Pausic and Nick Smith.
