MHS golf

The Mathews High School golf team placed third in Monday’s Tidewater District tournament at the Hobbs Hole Golf Course in Tappahannock with a team score of 367, with MHS freshman Brandon Hubbard placing second overall. Chase Ambrose and Adam Dustin came in with 91 each and Bryce West finished with a 104 for Mathews. “It was a great day overall for the team,” said MHS coach Jake Jackson. “We had some pretty tough competition but the boys held strong. Brandon Hubbard fought hard and definitely earned his placement in the tournament.” King William won the district tournament with a score of 324.
