MHS girls fall to Cavs, Eagles, Pointers

The Mathews High School varsity volleyball team dropped its last three games in straight sets to King William, Westmoreland and West Point. The Lady Devils will look to turn it around tonight when they host the Middlesex Chargers.
King William
Last Thursday, Mathews hosted King William. The Blue Devils went into the game excited and ready to play. Unfortunately, the first set was short and ended up going to the Cavaliers, 25-9.
The Blue Devils did not let this hinder them; they went into the second set even more ready than before. This set was point-for-point, going back and forth throughout. Unfortunately, the Cavaliers came out on top once again, 25-20.
The final set of the game was even closer than the second. The Blue Devils fought their way through. Although the Blue Devils played their best the last set went to the Cavaliers again, this time 25-22. Addison Griffith and Autumn Jenkins were the only two with 100 percent serving in the match.
