MHS girls back on the court against KW, Carver, WP

After a long break due to the inclement weather, the Lady Devils were ready to get back on the court. The Devils competed against King William, Carver and West Point in the past week. On Feb. 10, the Lady Devils hosted the Lady Cavaliers in a thrilling and tight game. The JV girls started off strong, keeping the score close at the end of the first quarter and taking a 14-11 lead into the locker room at halftime on the way to a 24-19 victory. Top scorers were Kate Small with 12 points and Beanie Rowe with eight points. Before the varsity game, the gym was filled with emotion as the Lady Devils honored seniors Emily Coons and Lyla Duff. From the opening tipoff, both teams fought hard. The Devils took an 18-12 lead going into the second quarter but made poor passes in the second quarter and let the Cavaliers take control.
