The Mathews High School boys’ and girls’ indoor track teams traveled to Hampton last Tuesday, Jan. 20 to compete in Lampert Timing Indoor Track Meet #8 at the Boo Williams Sportsplex. Leading the Blue Devil girls were Nora Suthard, who took third in the triple jump (32’3”) and fifth in the long jump with a leap of 14’9.5”. Jordan Sadeg came in seventh in the 55-meter hurdles (11.18 seconds), seventh in the triple jump (32’3”) and 16th in the long jump (12’9”). Emily Congrove placed 17th in the long jump (12’3.5”), while the MHS girls’ relay team placed seventh with a time of 2:05.4. Emily Hernandez placed first among JV girls in the long jump (9’9”) and fifth in the 500-meter dash (1:52.07).
