MHS baseball, softball games canceled due to rainouts

Rain forced the cancellation of Monday’s Mathews High School baseball and softball games.

The MHS boys were scheduled to travel to Middlesex to take on the Christchurch Seahorses. That game had been rescheduled for yesterday afternoon.

Today, the Blue Devils travel to West Point for a 5 p.m. game against the Pointers. Mathews baseball has two big home games next week—against the Middlesex Chargers on Tuesday and the King William Cavaliers next Thursday, May 13. Both games start at 5 p.m.

The MHS softball team was set to take on St. Margaret’s School on Monday before that contest was rained out. And, due to a lack of umpires, Tuesday’s contest against Middlesex was canceled for the season. Like their baseball counterparts, the MHS girls will host Middlesex on Tuesday and King William next Thursday, with both games beginning at 5.
