Mathews High School senior Nora Suthard placed sixth in triple jump and eighth in the long jump at the VHSL Class 1 Indoor Track and Field State Championships at Liberty University in Lynchburg. Suthard had a jump of 32’9.5” last Thursday to place sixth in the triple jump. On the first day of competition last Wednesday, Suthard had a leap of 14’9.75” in the long jump finals. She was also a member of the girls’ 4x200 relay team—along with Jordan Sadeg, Ellie Congrove and Meredith Salvadori—who placed sixth with a season’s best time of 2:02.7. Sadeg also placed 11th in the triple jump. On the boys’ side, the 4x800 team of Adam Dustin, Jon Jenkins, Justin Pressnell and Adam Greve came in eighth overall with a time of 9:31.18. Jenkins, a senior, also placed 12th in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:18.15....
