Mathews women open homeschool co-op

In the hopes of building a community and creating meaningful friendships with homeschool families in their area, Carmen Cucinielle and Ingrid Condon started a local co-op, Wings of Mathews, in September of last year. Cucinielle and Condon met at their church, Mathews Baptist, and bonded over homeschooling their children. “We were realizing that there’s a lot of homeschoolers in this area, but in terms of other co-ops, the closest one is down in Gloucester,” said Cucinielle. “When you’re looking for the friendships and community of kids that live in your neighborhood—we just didn’t really have anything like that,” she said. One day Cucinielle turned to Condon, who had already been considering the idea, and asked if she wanted to open a co-op together. “Our church has been so supportive,” said Condon. “They let us use the facilities.
