The Lady Devils’ volleyball teams hosted Middlesex last Thursday at Mathews High School. The visiting Chargers won both the JV and varsity matches. In the JV contest, Mathews won the first set, 25-15, but fell in the next two, 25-16 and 15-9, losing 2-1. The Chargers swept the varsity match by scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-12. Mathews was scheduled to travel to West Point on Tuesday night; those games were postponed until Sept. 29 due to Tuesday’s high tides.
