Mathews LOVEworks sign dedicated

Mathews County’s new LOVEworks sign, located adjacent to the Liberty Square Complex, was dedicated with a ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday afternoon.
About 20-30 people gathered, braving a few brief showers at the start of the event. Lori Dusenberry, who served as president of the committee that planned the sign, welcomed those in attendance, beginning with a drawing for a denim jacket adorned with an image of the sign designed by artist Amanda Robinson. Kim Price won it.
“It’s been a heartfelt labor of love for me, but I could’ve never gotten it done without such wonderful support from so many people and community,” Dusenberry said.
She went on to thank the members of the Mathews LOVEworks committee, Tom Robinson (who ended up getting the design done by his daughter Amanda), the contributors, Electric Power Inc. of Midlothian (the company that fabricated the sign), Jay White from East River Construction, Haskins and Leigh Ramos from Bayside Auto and Collision and Michael Swiderski fro...
