Mathews Library begins search for new director

The Mathews Memorial Library Board of Trustees has appointed the library’s head of technical services, Greg Lewis, to serve as interim library director while it conducts a search for a new librarian to replace Bette Dillehay, who retired at the end of December. Chair Mary Ann Carr said that Lewis and the entire board of trustees, which currently consists of six members plus the board of supervisors’ liaison, will serve as the search committee, along with Friends of the Library president Viki Armentrout. The search will begin next week, she said, during the board’s first meeting of the new year, on Tuesday, Jan. 13. Reagen Thalacker, public library consultant in The Library of Virginia’s development division, will help guide the board through the search process, said Carr.
