Mathews County launched its online newsletter, “Be Here,” last month to provide residents with information and updates on matters that affect them.

Each newsletter includes updates on what’s happening with county departments, boards and commission and constitutional offices.

For instance, the February issue, now available online, focuses on COVID-19 vaccination efforts, Social Services programs, Mathews Memorial Library’s “Wi-Fi-to-Go” program, the new emergency alert system, and broadband expansion, as well as employment opportunities and other items.

Residents may sign up for an email subscription and provide suggestions for what they would like to see in future issues.

The newsletter is available by scrolling over “Latest News” on the main page of the county website (www.mathewscountyva.gov).
