The Mathews County Board of Supervisors, meeting at 6 o’clock tonight, Thursday, Sept. 18, in the historic courthouse on Court Street, will have a public hearing and several presentations.
The public hearing will be on an ordinance change to authorize the use of golf carts on Peach Point Road and Gales Neck Place, located off John Clayton Memorial Highway in Mathews.
Special presentations will be by Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, planning, design and engineering firm on the concept plan for Mathews Main Street Phase 2 and by Ron Lambert of the Mathews Rotary Club on Rotary’s “Water for Everyone” project.
In addition, Fred Lyon, chair of the Mathews VA250 Committee, will give a report on the committee’s activities and plans, and Mathews Commissioner of the Revenue Les Hall will speak to the board about a personal property tax rate resolution.
Finally, the board will consider adoption and implementation of an Emergency Operation Plan....
