A community health screening for Mathews County residents will be held at Mathews Baptist Church (8284 Buckley Hall Road, Hudgins) from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, May 8.

Screening services offered will include body mass index, blood pressure and HbA1c (test for determining diabetes).

Screenings will be conducted by clinical staff and volunteers of the Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic, made possible through a grant from the Mathews Rotary Club. Rotarians will also be on hand to provide additional volunteer support.

Participants will receive health information related to diabetes and hypertension, information on eligibility and services offered by GMCC, and healthy snacks. Those without health insurance are encouraged to attend. For more information, call the Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic at 804-210-1368.
