Master stylist Cathy Arthur of Gloucester has founded CatHair. The new business operates out of Tangled Up Salon at the White Marsh Village Shopping Center and is currently seeing clients on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

With 30 years of experience under her belt, Arthur began renting space at Tangled Up Salon in May after years of working at various other salons. Going into business for herself has been a longtime goal for Arthur. She offers a number of services for her clients, including coloring, foils and perms. She said she does haircuts for the whole family.

Arthur said she has a wonderful clientele that has been supportive of her and her new business. Her goal has always been not to only make her clients look good but also feel good. She wants the time they spend in her chair to be the best part of their day. This has led to a list of loyal clients who appreciate the environment she’s created.

Along with the community aspect of her work, Arthur said working with hair blends with her uplifting nature and creative spirit. She said hairstyling is an outlet that allows her creative muscles to work.

Currently she works from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. All hours are subject to change based on appointments.
