MARY UDELL MASON MILLER

Mary Udell Mason Miller, 86, of Harcum Road, Gloucester, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Miller was a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church where she was active with the United Methodist Women, historian of the church and served as organist for many years.

She was retired from Miller’s Septic Service, Inc., that she and her husband, James Lee Miller Sr., established in 1972.

Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Miller Sr.; brother, retired Brig. Gen. Phillip H. Mason of Massachusetts, and son-in-law, Les Jones of Richmond.

Survivors include daughter, Nancy M. Jones of Richmond; a son and daughter-in-law, James L. Miller and Sallie R. Miller; sister, Betty M. Thorp; brother, Bill Mason, both of Florida; grandchildren, Jamie and his wife Morgan, Ashley M. Miller of Gloucester, and David and Jules Jones of Midlothian, and great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Sidney and Jamison of Gloucester, and Greyson and Lauren Jones of Midlothian.

A funeral service was conducted on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Olive Branch United Methodist Church by Pastor Rita Staul. Interment was in church cemetery.

The family received friends from 4-5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, at Andrews Funeral Home & Crematory, Gloucester.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to Olive Branch United Methodist Church and Gloucester Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Inc.
