Mary Burton “Burt” Hill Gleason, 81 years old, died on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at her home. She was born in Newport News, Virginia, on October 17, 1944 to Willard Burton and Mary Lou Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. James Gleason. She left behind her beloved companion, JJ the cockerpoo.
Burt taught and coached for 38 years; one year at Pembroke High School, Hampton and then 37 years with Gloucester County Public Schools.
Per Burt’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. We all have wonderful memories, and she asked that you celebrate her life with your family and your friends.
