Marvin M. Crane of Hayes, died at Mary Immaculate Hospital on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at the age of 87. Marvin was born on Dec. 1, 1933, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, to the late Frank Carlton and Effie Murphy Crane. Marvin was well known for his success as an entrepreneur, having owned numerous local Subways, in addition to Achilles Market at Achilles. Siblings, Garland Williams and Glen Crane have preceded him in death.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Malvina Bristow Crane; children, Nancy St. Clair, Sydney Bristow-Hancock, Jamie Bristow; grandchildren, David St. Clair, Leanna Davis, Erin Bristow, Tyler Hancock, Adam Horrell, Jason Horrell; siblings, Paul Crane, Evelyn Britton, and Patsy Williams. The family received friends on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, in the chapel of Hogg Funeral Home, conducted by Pastor Richard Whiteheart. Inurnment will be private.
