MARJORIE MALBON THEBERGE

Marjorie Malbon Theberge, 96, of Virginia Beach, passed peacefully away in her home on Nov. 22, 2018.

She was born of a large family associated with the area since the 1640s as farmers, fishermen, Life Saving Service men, Coast Guard men and business people. Her life spanned the ages of horse-powered agriculture, kerosene lighting and outhouses to space travel.

Marjorie was beloved as a daughter, farm girl, sister, horsewoman, violinist, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, prolific knitter, and friend to all.

She is survived by brothers, Billy and Paul Malbon; sister, Teenie; cousin, Leegie; son, Bart; granddaughters, Mary and Susan; son-in-law, James; much-loved great-granddaughter, Olive Moon; a multitude of very special nieces and nephews, their children and many, many very good friends.

Marjorie died possessed of a warm heart, a clear mind and a steely will in her own bed, in her own house overlooking the marshes and waterways she called home.  May we all be so fortunate.

Due to loved ones residing half a world away, a service will be held at Nimmo Church in July 2019. A notice will be published two weeks in advance of the service. Donations can be sent to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad.
