Richard “Pop” William Seyda Jr., age 73, of Gloucester, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025. He was born on June 22, 1951 in Norfolk, Va. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army. After retirement from the Army, he worked for civil service at the U-Do-It Center on base. He loved watching MASH and scratching lottery tickets while enjoying a cold Pepsi. He is survived by his wife, Mary; his five children, Garrick Seyda, Kathryn Cunningham (Robert Crocket), Elizabeth Crockett (Devin Soukup), Sandra Edwards (Sean), and Jimmy Cunningham; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and sisters, Gayle Valentini, Sandy Howell (Bob), and Teresa Seyda. The graveside service will be held at Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. with military honors.
