Margie Lee Becknell, age 89, of Gloucester, died at the home of her son on June 13, 2011.

Mrs. Becknell retired from Eastern State Hospital, and was a member of Petsworth Baptist Church.

Her first husband, Leonidas W. Gibbs Sr., preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Walter Grant Becknell; son, L. Warren Gibbs Jr. and wife Carolyn; stepson, Gary Becknell and wife Claudia; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, and one brother, Charlie Clarence Haywood.

A service of remembrance, conducted by the Rev. David Edgell, was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011, in the chapel of Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Inurnment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service, and other times family and friends will gather at the home of Warren and Carolyn, 4133 Cappahosic Road.
