MARGARET THOMPSON BAUMGARDNER

Margaret Thompson Baumgardner of Lehigh Acres, Fla., passed away at age 76 on Feb. 2, 2014.
 
She was born in Gloucester, Va., and was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Burleigh Thompson; her sister, Marion Shackelford, and her son, Richard Allen Baumgardner. 
 
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard Baumgardner; her children, Brenda Tyson, Cindy Wong and her husband Kee, and Pat Cruse and her husband Jack; grandchildren, Austin Mueller, Rose Drinnon, Robert Drinnon, Rachel Drinnon, Kit Wong, and Kai Wong, and one great-grandchild, Brooke Hastings. She also leaves behind her sisters, Mary Kemp, Martha Hudgins and her husband Bobby, Emma Walton and her husband Buck, Alice White and her husband John, and Grace (Red) Rowe and her husband Hammie. She also had many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends who are saddened by her death. 
 
Throughout her life Margaret was a hard-working woman, faithful wife and loving mother. In addition to running a busy household, she managed the office for the contracting business operated by her husband and his partner. 
 
There will be a Celebration of Life service for Margaret in the spring at Groves Presbyterian Church in Glass.
