Made in Mathews, the annual showcase for local artists and artisans, will celebrate its 19th year beginning later this month. And although the COVID-19 pandemic has caused some changes to be made this year, the show will go on.

This year’s open studio tours will be held over a span of two weekends—from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, Saturday, Nov. 28 and Saturday, Dec. 5 and from noon to 5 p.m. on the two Sundays, Nov. 29 and Dec. 6. Face masks and physical distancing will be required.

Three of this year’s artists—Watercolor by Gib Pulley (Wayne and Gib Pulley), the hand-crafted wood furnishings of Harborwood Studio (Donald Grantham) and the hand-crafted creations of Bentwaters Farms (Larry and Rosalie Brown)—have chosen to exhibit their wares virtually only.

The remaining artists, as well as the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center and the Bay School Community Arts Center, will be open to visitors all five days.
