Love, Gloucester style

Visitors coming over the Coleman Bridge into Gloucester will now be greeted with a message of love. Thanks to a grant from the Virginia Tourism Corporation’s #WanderLOVE campaign, the Gloucester Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism was able to install a LOVE sign on June 29 at the Whitley’s Peanut Factory Retail Store at Gloucester Point. The artwork, created by SignMedia Incorporated, celebrates some of what makes Gloucester unique; among the letters is an L in the shape of a waterman’s white “bubba” boot and a daffodil bloom in the place of the O. Here, Jinny Dawson, manager of the Whitley’s Peanut Factory Retail Store, is shown with the LOVE sign.
