Locust Grove Farm to hold ‘A Walk Through History’

Locust Grove Farm, located in the King and Queen County community of Walkerton, will host “A Walk Through History” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5.

The daylong living history program will include stories of the lives of those who lived in and around the tri-centennial farm from the 1600s through the 1900s. Those attending will learn history from Native Americans on how they lived in early America. Then they will discover what soldiers went through during the Revolutionary War.

Walking on, they will see how benches were made in the 1800s. Next, visitors will see a Civil War encampment. Walking on, they will discover vehicles and interpreters of WWI, WWII, the Korean War and end up with the Vietnam War.

History facts will be displayed along the path and demonstrations will take place all day, such as artillery and cavalry.Admission is $5; children 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. For more information, visit www.locustgrove1665.com.
