Local Habitat for Humanity is back in action

 

Habitat for Humanity of Gloucester-Mathews is back in action and is getting prepared to start on its first building project in several years.

 

Members of the group’s board of directors gathered early Saturday morning at the site of its next project, which is located on Dragon Drive near Glenns.

 

The local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a Christian housing ministry that helps families who can’t afford safe, decent housing, has been in a period of transition since its executive director died in December 2009.

 

In June 2012, the group hired Teresa Dalton as its new director. Along with the 12 board members, Dalton has been working tirelessly to get the organization back to full speed.

 

According to board member Bernard Ambrose, the future home will be three bedrooms and will be just over 1,200 square feet.
