LIVESTRONG, a 12-week program for those surviving and fighting cancer, begins next month at the Mathews Family YMCA in Hudgins. Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Sept. 16 and running through Dec. 11. The free program will focus on building muscle mass and strength; increasing flexibility, endurance, and balance; and improving confidence and self-esteem. The program “focuses on you—the whole person—not cancer,” a release said. The program is open to those living in Middlesex, Mathews, and Gloucester. Caregivers and spouses are also eligible for the program. To register or learn more information, contact instructor Tracy Battilla at 804-725-1488 ext. 4003 or Tracy.Battilla@ymcavp.org.
