Lillian E. Nelms, 93, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, under the care of the loving ladies at The Cottage of Gloucester House Assisted Living and Riverside Hospice.

She was a native of Newport News and a resident of Gloucester for 36 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Nelms; three brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Kay Nelms Brown (Richard A. Brown); son, James C. Nelms Jr.; sister, Joan Lee, and grandchild, Margaret E. Brown.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at Peninsula Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Gloucester House or Riverside Hospice.
