The latest in interpretive signage was recently installed on the New Point Comfort Lighthouse Overlook boardwalk. Mathews County Historical Society with the sponsorship of Athens Building Corporation, the construction company that performed the restoration, designed and orchestrated the fabrication of the new panel. The narrative explains the stabilization of the island and the subsequent repair and restoration of New Point Comfort Lighthouse.
