Letter: Writer needed to be there

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I find it a sad thing when 200 law-abiding citizens gathered in a meeting, opened to the public, are accused of "rabble-rousing and hate-mongering of the worst sort" by someone, who by her own admission, wasn’t present nor in possession of first hand knowledge of the meeting. To ridicule and disparage an entire group of people she doesn’t even know based on her prejudiced opinion of what they may or may not believe is not reflective of the community spirit we cherish in America. To paraphrase the cute little Disney critter who once said, "If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all," please if you can’t say something nice, at least make sure it is true.
