Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Here are a few points to ponder with the ceaseless effort to curb gun violence. I want folks to take a good look at the "Most Wanted" pages in just about any newspaper. About 20 folks appear each week listing their various misdeeds and crimes, with anywhere from 2-6 felons listed as, pay attention real close now, "Convicted felon in possession of a firearm." Wow! Who knew? We have a law? They can’t do that, it’s against the law! So, our whiz kids in D.C. clamor to pass more restrictive laws on the law-abiding in an effort to reach these few. Do they look like NRA members? Nope. I know, Tea Party Patriots? Nope. A reasonable man would then ask, are these outstanding members of our society going to follow these new, more restrictive, gun laws? I think not! That’s why they are criminals in the first place.
