With her recent letter to the Gazette-Journal ("Gloucester school board gets a grade of ‘F’"), resident Leola Travis made a searing appraisal of the Gloucester school leader’s motives and loyalties. I agree with her. Anyone attending the meetings and wranglings about what to do following the damage of last year’s tornado could not help but come away with the strong sense that something was amiss, that the truth and nothing but the truth was not being discussed. I also agree with her assessment of Ben Kiser and his arrogance and presumption when speaking to members of the school board and supervisors and to that I would add the community at large.
Leola wrote, "It has appeared that Dr. Kiser is the employer and board members are his employees. He gives instructions and demands responses, such as "You need to …" "You must …" "You should …" as well as similar mandates.
