Letter: Vandalism has no part in political campaign

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

At 7 a.m. Tuesday, while standing in the parking lot of Abingdon Fire and Rescue, I watched a young woman place several road signs for Krystal Ball. I then noticed that the Rob Wittman sign nearby looked a little tilted, so I went to check it and discovered someone had lifted many of Wittman’s signs out of the ground so that they were now unstable and could be knocked over by a strong wind.

At the Gloucester Point Baptist Church, 10 Rob Wittman signs that were there at 9:45 last night were gone by 5:45 a.m., strewn about the road and in the ditch.

This sign stealing and tampering is wrong, despicable and may be even criminal. Please leave the signs alone and let the citizens see them and make an informed decision for the best candidate.
