Letter: Tried in the court of public opinion

Ms. Thompson (“Let’s wait for the truth to come out,” Aug. 28 Readers Write) has taken issue with my Ferguson article.

I wholeheartedly agree that everyone, especially the liberal media, needs to wait for the facts prior to making a judgment. Based on the coverage I have witnessed, Officer Wilson has been tried and convicted in the court of public opinion.

I intentionally wrote my article from an officer’s perspective, leaving out any mention of race since that is, or rather should, be a non-issue, unless the media parades after the likes of the well-known race-baiters Sharpton and Jackson. Then our very own color-blind attorney general enters the fray. ’Nuff said.

Several things here:

1. A conversation was overheard between two eyewitnesses that supported the claim that Brown was charging Officer Wilson.

2. It is unclear whether Officer Wilson knew about the strong-armed robbery, not armed robbery.
