Letter: There’s no secrecy in COVID

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

On the morning of Oct. 2, I received notice from my internist’s office that there was, in Mathews, “A recent large event that has several positive cases and wide spread exposure.” They were unable to tell me more except to say that the Health Department was aware of the situation. A call to that office for more information was unproductive.

Evidently, they are not allowed to or unwilling to release anything. It seems to me that the health department has become part of the problem and not the solution to the COVID-19 problem.

In the movie “A League of Their Own,” Tom Hanks famously says, ‘’There’s no crying in baseball!” And when it comes to the COVID pandemic it should be said, “There’s no secrecy in COVID!” This is not some weird venereal disease!
