If I would wish upon a star,

For our dear teachers near and far

A wish of hope I’d always send

To help them live and heal and mend

Each little mind that comes their way

In need of comfort every day

I’d think of light and not despair,

The source of love they always share,

Provide each child just what they need,

To plant and grow that special seed,

The one that opens every mind,

The gentle learning, caring kind.

It comes to me the springtime scene

Was made to honor all who dream,

For those who teach and light the way,

Who touch the heart with what they say,

Who labor books in hand to give

The Learning Tree to all who live!
