Letter: Taking offense

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I think I’ve had enough. This person is offended or that person is offended, so the rest of us must lose our freedom. Really?

The American flag is offensive. The cross is offensive. The name of Jesus is offensive. Truth is offensive. Please tell me what person in this world is not offended at least once in this life? Well, you’re offended, I am offended and everyone is offended at one time or another.

Please, show me in our Constitution where it says that we have an inalienable right to not be offended. However, it does most certainly say that in these United States of America, the freedom of speech, the free press, the right to redress grievances and the free exercise of religion shall not be abridged, does it not?

So, long live the land of the free and the home of the brave. And oh, yes, by the way, Merry Christmas!
