Letter: Supervisor asserts that he responds

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I would like to respond directly and take strong exception to Mr. Rilee’s letter to the editor dated July 24 as published in last week’s Gazette Journal (“Responding is important,” Readers Write). Mr. Rilee stated that I and three other members of the Board of Supervisors “rarely do” respond to emails or phone calls from him or other constituents. This false, paintbrush impression to the public cannot be further from the truth.

While I cannot speak for my other colleagues, I make it an important priority as a board member to respond quickly to my constituents and take prompt action where necessary. I make it a point to always answer my phone, call back, or write back to constituents who write directly to me. Anyone in my district, including those outside, know that I respond to every call or email and take quick action.
