Letter: Sowing the seeds of a better future

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I would like to thank all of those who helped the Gloucester Schoolyard Habitat Pollinator Partnership in our yearlong process of establishing wildlife habitats at our Gloucester schools. This includes the teachers and students who worked to map, measure and plant, as well as the parents, Master Gardeners and Master Naturalists who arrived in large numbers on planting days to assist!

We are especially grateful for our Habitat Partners. Each partner mentored a school throughout the year, often spending many hours in the classroom and sharing his or her own materials. We look forward to working with school staff in the coming years as we learn how best to use the habitats with our students and expand them to other schools. And yes, we always need more volunteers!

Please note: It is our Habitat Partners, as well as teachers, who continue to work through this hot summer weather to water and maintain our habitats.
