Letter: Soup with Love: feeding the body and soul

The Church of St. Therese has been offering "Soup with Love" to the people in Gloucester on the Fridays of Lent for many years. This year, we were honored and blessed to have the following pastors join us for soup and offer a short reflection on the meaning and celebration of Lent. We thank Pastor Jim Larson of Apostles Lutheran Church, Pastor Calvin Griffin of Singleton United Methodist Church, Pastor Douglas Nagel of First Presbyterian Church, Pastor Mike Gray of Newington Baptist Church, Pastor Sven vanBaars of Abingdon Episcopal Church and Pastor Leonard Chapman of Morning Glory Baptist Church, for giving of their time and sharing their reflections with us.

Because of our busy lives, we sometimes fail to stop and think about the significance of Lent. Their reflections help us to focus on this period of preparation for the Easter celebration of the death and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
