Editor, Gazette-Journal: Thanks to Mr. Hutson, Dr. Orth and Mr. Nicosia for standing up for what is right and just. Last week reintroduced dark times in Gloucester that I hoped were behind us. We are supposed to learn from our mistakes, not use them as our playbook. This action, terminating Ms. Steele, was the vindictive efforts of one supported by three. It was unethical, immoral and indefensible. First, the fiscal implications of their actions: —Pay the exiting administrator either contract buy-out or some severance or both; —Pay an interim administrator via until another can be put in place (six months minimum if done correctly); —Hire a consulting firm to conduct a search (not cheap); —Hire/pay a new administrator. Not easy because of the hostile environment they created resulting in a shallow candidate pool.
