Editor, Gazette-Journal: In Virginia, only about half of registered voters voted in last November’s election. This year, there are three elections scheduled—one on April 21, the primaries this summer and the one that will determine our Senator and Representative on Nov. 3. Our country’s form of government is a representative democracy which makes your vote the best voice you have to affect how our country is run. This requires that you vote and you should consider carefully and be fully informed when you do. Here are several issues facing us this year that are important for you to think about: —Do you think that this is a little journey into Iran, an excursion of a war we are dealing with in Iran? —Do you think that ICE is concentrating on capturing the “worst of the worst” or picking up the “low-hanging fruit” for deportation? —Do you think that you are better off and safer than you were four years ago? —Do you think we have equal justice under the law?
